SaveGame

Privacy

SaveGame keeps track of the games you own. This page explains what it stores, who can see it and how to get rid of it. Last updated 14 October 2026.

What we store

SaveGame needs an account, so your shelf is kept safe and follows you between phones. For your account we store:

Photos you take of your copies stay on your phone. Your profile photo is re-encoded on our server, which removes any location or camera data.

Who can see what

What we don’t do

No adverts, no analytics or tracking tools, and we don’t sell or share your data. The SaveGame server doesn’t log your requests; your IP address is only held briefly in memory to stop abuse. The web host in front of it may keep standard access logs (IP address, page, time) for up to 30 days for security.

Notifications and permissions

The camera is used to scan barcodes and photograph your copies, on your phone. Notifications tell you about deals on your wishlist and activity from people you follow. You can turn either off in your phone’s settings.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking: nothing is stored on your device when you visit it. The app keeps its own data (your collection, and your sign-in if you have an account) on your phone, for itself only.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time: email us from your account’s address with your username (in the app, Account → Delete account writes the email for you). We delete it within 30 days, removing your profile, photo, collection, wishlist, follows, activity, reservations and sign-in details, and the app clears its copy on your phone; database backups are kept for no more than 30 days, so any copy in them is gone within that time. Reports you made about other people are kept without your name.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

Children

SaveGame isn’t aimed at children under 13, and they shouldn’t create an account.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
